Description
Whitish grey or blackish grey,
fine-grained, cataclastic and banded (straight
gneiss) granoblastic paragneiss, associated with
the Kinonge-Labelle Shear Zone. The gneiss has
been extracted from one quarry in Labelle, in
the Laurentides Region, since 1987. The stone
is used to produce decorative stones, building
stones and cobblestones for building low walls,
retaininng walls, fireplaces, and patios.
