Description
Gabbroic anorthosite belonging to the Lac-Saint-Jean
Anorthositic Suite. The stone is dark brown, almost black. The quarry,
which has been in operation since 2003, is located in the Chute-des-Passes
area of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean Region. Uses for the stone
include producing cut-to-size panels, slabs, tiles, and monuments.
