Description

Bluish- to brownish-tinged dark grey, fine-grained, siliceous limestone in nearly horizontal beds 5 to 20 cm thick. It belongs to the Grondines Member of the Neuville Formation (Trenton Group). The stone has been quarried since the beginning of 1960 in the Borough of Charlesbourg, in the Capitale-Nationale Region. It is used for masonry: walls, retaining walls, foundations, and exterior finishes for construction.
