Description

Blocks of Proterozoic granitoid rock (granite and gneiss of the Grenville Province) from a Quaternary granular deposit located south of Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval. The material is screened, but not crushed, to produce five categories of natural stone based on particle diameter*. It is used as decorative stone and landscaping stone (low walls). The stone is also used for protecting riverbanks and bridge embankments.

*Given that the diameter of gravel varies from 0.5 to 20 cm, that a pebble's varies from 20 to 60 cm and that a block's is greater than 60 cm.
