The campaign
As part of the campaign, every child born or adopted during the year is able to receive a small seedling tree that will grow over his or her lifetime. Every plant comes with a growth chart and a souvenir card for the child’s life book.
Little plants that grow … and grow …
The plants supplied by the MRNF are small, measuring between 30 cm and 45 cm. But be careful where you plant them! Because they are forest species, they will grow - a lot! In 75 to 100 years’ time, when they reach maturity, most of the trees will be between 20 and 30 metres high.
Registration
When are the trees distributed?
Trees are distributed once a year, in the month of May, which is the Mois de l’arbre et des forêts. All parents who have registered for the program will receive a letter from the MRNF shortly before the event, indicating the distribution date and time for their region. If you would like to receive your tree in May, you must send your registration form to the MRNF by April 15.
